Gene is devoted to the project of rewilding the human spirit by facilitating soulful encounters with the more-than-human world and supporting individuals and groups to bring forth the unique gifts of their true nature. He is an ecopsychologist, educator and wilderness guide with over 20 years experience guiding others in nature-based pathways to self-discovery, wholeness, and a deeper sense of belonging to the world. Gene is founder of the Wild Heart Center for Nature & Psyche, and a Soulcraft guide with Animas Valley Institute. Gene has taught ecology and ecopsychology at Naropa University, and serves as a graduate advisor in ecopsychology at Prescott College. He has been a college academic administrator and has held a variety of positions in environmental and educational organizations. Gene has completed a six-year Soulcraft Guide training with Animas Valley Institute, and is a long-time student of the Diamond Approach to Inner Work. He nurtures his own sense of wonder by exploring the Boulder foothills with his young daughter, and courts the muse through music and poetry. |
